in the old city of jerusalem, this star shines brightly and leads the
way. it can be bought, of course. |
here you can get as many crosses, jesuses and holy thingies as you like. wonder if they got blessed 'a.intruders' for roman-katholics? |
cute ali baba's jewellery shop in the old city of jerusalem. |
more market. strong sensations, noise, smell, a slite feeling of danger, tention. intense to be here. |
more marked. actually, the old city is a market... there is no point of rushing, you can only move at the speed of the crowd.
leaving the old city through one of the gates (jaffa gate?), going into the new city. |
highly armed police every where, both visable and invisable. i asked if i could take a photo, the old man turned away, the woman just looked at me and probably thought "stupid tourist".
right she might be, too, it is really hard to comprehend all the compleity of the situation.
on the bus stop outside the old city arabs sell food, carpets, mobile phones and you name it. |
this is not the way i imagened a cruzifiction... some busload of some
orthodox something somewhere from the east (well, actually there it was
from the west) celebrated something holy, i suppose. |
in the "jerusalem hostel" i met another norwegian. at first he was really nice, we went for a walk through the old city. in the evening
we went out drinking, and the more he drank the more of a jerk he became. if you come this guy across your travels, do not add alcohol! |

cool graffity in tel aviv. |
all the houses in tel aviv make their warm water with solar heat collector, so showers in the winter are somewhat lukewarm... |
